SUMMARY
Cypher Intelligence LLC is seeking a Senior Linux System and Virtualization Engineer to support a cleared program in McLean.
The successful candidate must support a customer on a medium-sized mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment; including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. In support of the customer’s strategic direction, we are looking for individuals who can support the protection of the customer environment. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:- Compliance and adherence to all customer and client security policies, procedures, requirements and processes.
- Perform all work on customer and client sites (unless otherwise specified) during core hours
- Demonstrate excellent shell scripting Linux scripting skills (Bourne, BASH) and have experience with Python programming and scripting.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert level support, administration, knowledge and engineering of multiple variants of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu etc.)
- Apply security best practices, configurations and principles (NIST, CEH, CISSP etc.) or similar knowledge and experience to operational systems.
- Design, build, harden and deploy virtualized and physical computer systems.
- Provide technical guidance, instruction, leadership and mentoring as needed for customers and peers.
- Perform INFOSEC research and documentation for emerging threats and security event assessments to include root cause analysis and remediation options and solutions on Linux systems.
- Research and identify beneficial new and emerging technologies in support of customer operations.
- Provide support, administration, knowledge and engineering of networks, routing, and firewalls as needed or requested.
- Operate, administer and maintain virtualization environments such as VMWare/ESXi servers and commercial cloud services as needed or requested.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & TECHNOLOGIES- Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Operate, administer and maintain Microsoft domain servers and services such as DNS, Domain Controllers and user account management as needed or requested.
- Demonstrate System and network automation skills.
- Build, administer, maintain and manage a wide range of Linux application servers including web servers, database and functional proprietary servers.
- Provide one-on-one system user support when needed or requested.
- Provide system support on a 24×7 basis as needed to maintain satisfactory system operations and user support.
- Create, write and develop technical and procedural documentation as needed or requested.
- Travel as needed within the WMA and elsewhere (based on availability) as needed or requested to support operations.
- 10 years of relevant software development experience, to include significant Java development, data analysis/parsing, and SQL/database experience
- Strong experience with the full data lifecycle, from ingest through display, in a Big Data environment
- Strong experience with Java-related technologies, such as JDK, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, and/or Spring, and experience with RESTful APIs
- Experience developing and performing ETL tasks in a Linux environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
Must have Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph
